The information below is in place for the safety and privacy of our customers and clients. It is not intended to be perceived as a money making exercise by our company. We do not ask for further payment on any of our photographed images once they have initially been purchased. We do request that you respect the privacy of fellow clients and customers and take a sensible approach to the images purchased. Read on for more information . . .

Definitive Photography owns the copyright on photographs they have taken?
The copyright to the photos will remain with Definitive Photography and therefore any reproduction without permission would be an infringement of copyright.
More importantly, we are very considerate to our customers/clients and do not wish for their images (including those images seen here on the website) to be used without permission from Definitive Photography or the photographed person themselves.
This is particularly important to note with the use of images of under 18's who regularly take part in the type of events we attend.
However - If you have been photographed by us and are the only person in the captured frame we see no reason why you shouldn't have the right to do as you wish with the image. We just ask that if you intend to use the image on any web sites or for any other media/commercial purpose, you contact us so we can get a mention for taking the photo. A simple "Picture taken by Definitive Photography" would suffice
If there are other people in your photograph i.e. in the background during an event, we ask that you once again consider their privacy and rights to refuse further use of any images unless of course they are removed from the captured frame using a photo editing program.
Equestrian specific copyright- Due to the fact that many riders compete with other people's horses in events and have potographs taken by Definitive Photography,
we ask that you once again consider their privacy and right to refuse any further use of an image for anything else than your personal souvenir.
Those people selling a horse using one of our images - We have no problem with you using an image of you and your horse but please ensure you seek permission from the rider if it is not you on the horse and also permission from Definitive Photography prior to placing you ad.
